Overview

IP Lookup lets you inspect any IPv4 or IPv6 address in seconds. Paste an address or press Use my IP, and see the ISP, ASN, organization, country, region, city, postal code, timezone and approximate coordinates. The lookup runs through the public IP service ipwho.is, 0Appz does not store your queries or the addresses you check. Use it to verify where a server or visitor comes from, check an ISP, debug network issues or learn more about the addresses that appear in your logs.

What an IP lookup returns

Public registries map address blocks to the organizations that own them. A lookup resolves an address to its ISP and autonomous system, the organization name, the country and region, an approximate city, postal code, timezone and rough coordinates. The accuracy is good at country and ISP level and approximate at city level, mobile carriers and VPNs often register blocks far from where a device actually is. For IPv6 the same databases apply, though coverage varies by block age.

Privacy: queries are not logged by us

The lookup is sent from your browser to a public service, which processes the request like any site visit. 0Appz stores nothing about the addresses you inspect or when you inspect them. Nothing about your own connection is recorded beyond what the public service normally sees.

When an IP lookup helps

• Trace where an abusive request in your server logs originated.
• Confirm whether a visitor region matches your licensing or blocking rules.
• Check that a hosting migration resolves to the right provider.
• Verify whether an address belongs to a cloud provider or a residential ISP.
• Remember VPN and mobile addresses may not reflect real user location.

IP geolocation: accuracy, limits and privacy

IP geolocation does not locate a device; it estimates where the address is registered and routed, which is a different thing. Databases are built from regional internet registries, ISP allocation records, routing tables and latency measurements, and their accuracy decreases as you go deeper: country-level results are usually correct, region-level is often right, and city-level is a best guess that can be wrong by tens of kilometres. Several factors break the estimate entirely. A VPN or proxy makes the reported location the exit node's, which is the point of using one. Mobile carriers route traffic through central gateways, so a phone can appear in a city far from the user. Corporate networks and cloud hosting often show the data centre rather than the office. Satellite and Starlink connections may resolve to a ground station in another country. The address type matters too: residential addresses are more stable, while CGNAT shared addresses are reused by many subscribers. What the lookup is genuinely good for is diagnosing routing, checking which ISP serves a connection, identifying the autonomous system behind an address, and verifying that a VPN is active. What it is not good for is identifying a person or a street address. The lookup runs from your browser, and the page stores nothing about the addresses you query.
