How to use this tool
Trim videos without uploading them
Free Video Trimmer cuts the start and end off any video in your browser. Drop a file, set the range on the timeline and export — the trimmed clip is processed with FFmpeg (WebAssembly) and stays on your device the whole time.
How to trim a video
- Drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file above
- Drag the handles to set start and end points
- Export and download the trimmed clip
Good to know
- Stream-copy keeps the original quality when the cut points allow it
- Re-encoding kicks in for frame-accurate cuts
- No watermark, and no upload limit — processing is bounded only by your device memory
Frequently asked questions
How do I trim a video? +
With this tool: drop a video, set Start and End seconds (or grab them from the preview with ◎), pick fast or precise mode, click Trim and download.
Fast vs precise mode? +
Fast mode stream-copies without re-encoding: instant and lossless, but cuts snap to keyframes (±1–2 s). Precise mode re-encodes (H.264) for frame-exact cuts and takes longer.
Which formats are supported? +
MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI, M4V and most FFmpeg-readable containers up to 2 GB. Output is MP4 (or WebM for WebM inputs) with faststart for instant web playback.
Is my video private? +
Yes. Trimming happens 100% on your device with FFmpeg; no bytes are sent to any server.
